About
THE DISCOVERY CENTER

The Discovery Center is a visitors center, classroom and office facility located at the refuge. It includes an exhibit space, a large classroom, and staff offices.

There are numerous environmental habitats within a short drive of the Discovery Center. Since 1994, the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service has hosted field trips throughout the school year for students at local elementary and intermediate schools. Formally known as Discovery Environmental Education Program (DEEP), the program presently serves over 2500 students from the Brazosport and the Angleton ISDs.
