PUBLIC USE

The 338-acre Dow Woods Unit of the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge was donated to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service by The Dow Chemical Company in December, 2008. The property is covered by virgin hardwood riparian forest and is dissected north to south by Bastrop Bayou. It is bordered on the east by Old Angleton Road and on the south by State Highway 2004. The north and west boundaries are contiguous with additional hardwood forest.
